The China-made Tesla Model 3 started a new round of price changes on October 1, with information on the Tesla China website now showing that the price of the lowest-priced standard range-extended upgrade has been reduced to RMB 249,900 ($36,800), a drop of RMB 21,650.

Speaking to the media at the Shanghai Pudong Auto Show on September 28, Tesla vice president Grace Tao said the company is accelerating localization.

In response to the problem of other people's vehicles appearing in a Chinese Model 3 owner's Tesla app, the car maker responded on Tuesday that it was due to maintenance staff mistakenly entering the vehicle identification number in the on-board computer.

A Chinese Tesla owner said on Weibo today that when he opened the Tesla App, instead of seeing his Model 3, someone else's vehicle appeared.

Earlier this month, Nio released August delivery figures, with 3,965 units delivered for the month, up 104.1 percent year-on-year. Of these, 2,840 vehicles were delivered for the ES6 and 1,125 for the ES8.

Tesla may be preparing to make some upgrades to the China-made Model 3 that will help improve the car experience for owners.
