The Yuan Plus was initially launched in February 2022 and currently has a starting price range of RMB 115,800 ($16,110) to RMB 145,800 in China.

The Yuan family sold 31,711 units in May, making it the fifth most popular model among BYD's 20-plus models.

BYD has launched the Yuan Up in Costa Rica, a compact SUV known locally as the BYD S1 Pro.

The Yuan family models include the Yuan Up, Yuan Plus, and Yuan Pro, all SUVs targeting the RMB 100,000 to RMB 150,000 price range.

BYD has released six images of the Yuan Up, showing the model from multiple angles.

The Yuan Up will be the newest member of BYD's Yuan family, which sold 428,580 units in 2023 and contributed 14 percent of BYD's sales.

Since March, the Qin family has been the top-selling BYD model in monthly sales.

From January to May, the Qin family models sold 171,534 units and the Song family sold 216,625 units.

The Yuan family of models sold 39,160 units in April, making it the second highest-selling BYD model for the month.

BYD has offered some discounts on the Seal, Song Plus, Yuan Plus and Dolphin in the price war in the Chinese auto industry over the past two months.
