The 2025 D9 starts at the same RMB 339,800 ($46,560) price as the 2024 model launched in March, but with upgraded features.

Denza, the premium brand of (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), launched the 2025 D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), its second update to its most important model this year.

Denza officially rolled out the 2025 D9 at a launch event yesterday, with the starting price remaining the same as that of the 2024 D9, which was launched on March 6, at RMB 339,800 ($46,560).

Denza has upgraded the D9's features, including the "God's Eye" BAS 3.0+ advanced driving assistance system and BYD's latest fifth-generation DM (dual mode) technology on the hybrid version.

The 2025 D9 is offered in eight variants, including five plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants and three battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.

The hybrid D9 DM-i is equipped with BYD's latest DM 5.0 technology and is priced from RMB 339,800, RMB 359,800, RMB 389,800, RMB 409,800, RMB 449,800 for the five variants, the same as its predecessor's variants.

The three variants of the 2025 Denza D9 BEV start at RMB 349,800, RMB 409,800, and RMB 469,800 respectively.

The 2024 Denza D9 BEV previously on sale starts at RMB 379,800, RMB 409,800 and RMB 469,800, respectively.

The model's length, width and height are 5,250 mm, 1,960 mm and 1,900 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, which is 20 mm lower than its predecessor's height.

The 2025 Denza D9 DM-i is powered by a 1.5 T engine with 115 kW of maximum power and 225 Nm of maximum torque.

Its single-motor version is powered by a front motor with a peak power of 200 kW and peak torque of 315 Nm. This powertrain allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.

The dual-motor version additionally has a rear motor with a peak power of 45 kW and peak torque of 110 Nm, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

The 2025 Denza D9 DM-i is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 40 kWh and a CLTC battery range of up to 200 kilometers.

The 2025 Denza D9 BEV is also available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, with the former featuring a front motor with 230 kW of peak power and 360 Nm of peak torque, and the latter having an additional rear motor with 45 kW of peak power and 110 Nm of peak torque.

These BEV variants come standard with a battery pack with a capacity of 103 kWh and a CLTC range of 600-620 kilometers.

Denza was founded in February 2011 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, with each holding a 50 percent stake at the time. In February 2022, the Daimler brand was rebranded as Mercedes-Benz.

BYD's stake in Denza increased to 90 percent in 2022, while Mercedes-Benz's stake decreased to 10 percent. In September this year, BYD announced that it bought the remaining 10 percent stake in Denza from Mercedes-Benz.

The D9, the first model of the Denza brand after its reorganization in 2022, was initially launched in August 2022 and deliveries began in October of the same year. The 2024 D9 went on sale on March 6 of this year.

Apart from the D9, Denza is currently selling the N7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), the Z9GT hatchback and the Z9 sedan.

The D9 has been Denza's most important model, selling around 10,000 units per month in most months for the past two years.

From January to November, the D9 delivered 92,945 units, contributing 83.75 percent of Denza's 110,976 deliveries in the same period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
