Zeekr has launched the Zeekr 009 MPV and Zeekr X compact SUV in Malaysia, with local deliveries set to begin later this month.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has entered the Malaysian automotive market, advancing its ongoing efforts to expand internationally.
The premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group announced yesterday that it has launched the Zeekr 009 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) and Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) in Malaysia on December 6, with local deliveries set to begin later this month.
The Zeekr 009 starts at a price of 349,800 ringgit ($78,960) in Malaysia, while the Zeekr X starts at 155,800 ringgit.
The two models start at RMB 439,000 ($60,340) and RMB 149,000 in China, respectively.
Zeekr will deploy six stores in Malaysia, covering areas including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor Bahru, according to the company.
It also plans to open service centers in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, and Penang to provide after-sales service to local users.
To date, Zeekr has entered more than 40 mainstream international markets, including Sweden, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Mexico.
Zeekr currently sells Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007, Zeekr 009, Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, Zeekr Mix.
Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X are Zeekr's main models in Southeast Asia, which are already on sale or available for pre-order in markets including Singapore and Thailand.
On November 28, Zeekr said it launched the Zeekr 009 in Singapore and opened its first store in the city-state and its 500th worldwide.
By the end of this year, Zeekr's global store count is expected to reach 520, the company said late last month.
Zeekr delivered 27,011 vehicles in November, its third consecutive month of record highs, according to data it released on December 1.
This is up 106.13 percent from 13,104 vehicles in the same period last year and up 7.83 percent from 25,049 in October.
In the January-November period, Zeekr delivered 194,933 vehicles, up 85.28 percent year-on-year. It aims to deliver 230,000 vehicles in the full year of 2024.
At the end of November, Zeekr's cumulative deliveries since its inception stood at 391,566 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
On December 7, Zeekr announced it saw its 400,000th vehicle roll off the line, a Zeekr Mix, a five-seater that went on sale October 23.
